Humans of Swimrise — Fiachna Ó Braonáin

Fiachna Ó Braonáin

Humans of Swimrise: Why do you swim?
Fiachna Ó Braonáin: I swim because it makes me feel completely alive and connected to the natural beauty around me… it takes me out of mind and into my body and soul. And it is different every day.

Humans of Swimrise: What is your favourite part of the swim?
Fiachna: In recent days I have been managing to swim around sunrise, and being in the water basking in the morning light is a glorious experience… the suns reflection on the water is an ever changing painting… and whether you're joined by flocks of low flying sea birds or fellow swimmers there is a sense of connection.. all the while finding moments of contemplative solitude within all of it.

Humans of Swimrise: How do you feel after your swim?
Fiachna: I always feel invigorated and alive and replenished after swimming. Even during the colder seasons there is never a hint of regret for getting in the water... it can be a great start to the day but equally it can be a great way to punctuate the daytime or wind down of an evening.

Fiachna’s new 4 track EP, Winter Sun, is out now on Bandcamp
