Greystones, spiritual home of Swimrise
I recently completed a 12 month stint as an Outdoor Swimming Society Swim Champ, it was a great year of connection, community and sharing the swim love from Greystones with the rest of the world.
Greystones is arguably the spiritual home of Swimrise, a phenomenon which has grown fins and become a global occurrence. For our group in Greystones it is resolutely embedded in our daily routine. Every now and then the doors are thrown open and, largely due to the generosity and energy of Steve and Dave Flynn of the Happy Pear, there is a 'big' Swimrise. One such day was 11 May last year.
I wrote an article about the day for the OSS, you can read it here. Another bonus on the day was the presence of a camera crew from DryRobe who made a terrific short film of the event, watch it here.
